We believe that education is an important pathway out of poverty and that high-quality early childhood education, family engagement and early social-emotional learning provide the foundation for school success.

Family Child Care

Early Learning Focus works to improve the quality of care and early education in family childcare homes through workshops and the First Teacher Louisiana Training Program. This program brings training to family childcare providers in child development and developmentally-appropriate activities to do with children in their care. It also helps to facilitate family involvement and provide training to parents on child development and developmentally-appropriate activities to do with their children. Our Cooking Up Learning Program is a resource for food programs.

We believe that family childcare providers, as well as kith and kin, play a very important role in the lives of many young children.  Not only do they provide care and education to children, they are trusted parenting guides to children’s families in American communities.

ELF is working to improve the quality of care and early education in family childcare homes through workshops and the First Teacher Louisiana Training Program.   The program provides training to providers in child development and developmentally appropriate activities to do with children in their care.  And it helps to facilitate parent involvement and provide training to parents on child development and developmentally appropriate activities to do with their children.
